TERMS OF BUSINESS MOTORIST INSURANCE SERVICES
MIS CLAIMS
MIS is a claims handling company specialising in the processing of motor and household related claims on behalf of insurance intermediaries, certain insurers and Lloyds syndicates.
Service Standards If you make a claim under your policy:
• We will respond promptly, explain how we will handle your claim and tell you what you need to do.
• We will give you reasonable guidance to help you make a claim under your policy.
• We will consider and handle your claim fairly, promptly, and tell you how your claim is progressing.
• We will tell you, in writing, and explain why, if we or the insurer cannot deal with all or any part of your claim.
As part of our service we will assist with the recovery of any uninsured losses or potential injuries you may incur.
If you have purchased an MIS Product please refer to your policy booklet for terms and conditions.
If prior to notification of your claim you have sought legal assistance, or you have elected to use your own nominated authorised legal representative, you will be responsible for your own legal costs.
We will act for you and on your behalf when resolving claims with the appropriate insurance companies. However, in circumstances where there may be a possible conflict of interest, we will appraise you of your rights and the options that are available to you.
Customer Protection Motorist Insurance Services Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
It is our intention to provide you with a high level of customer service at all times. However should wish to make a complaint about our service, we have a formal complaints procedure.

Customers Duty to Give Information
It is your responsibility to provide complete and accurate information to insurers when you take out your insurance policy, throughout the life of your policy, and when you review your insurance. It is important that you ensure that all statements you make on proposal forms, claim forms or via our call centre are full and accurate.
Please note that if you fail to disclose any material information to your insurers, this could invalidate your insurance cover and could mean that part or all of a claim may not be paid.

Our approach to Privacy
The privacy and security of your personal information is very important to us. We protect your information with security measures under the laws that apply. We keep our computers, files and buildings secure. Security We are committed to protecting the confidentially and security of the information that you provide to us and we put in place appropriate technical, physical and organisational security measures to protect against any unauthorised access or damage to, or disclosure of loss of your information. Insurance Administration
Your information may be used for the purposes of insurance administration by the insurer, its associated companies and agent and by re-insurers. It may be disclosed to regulatory bodies for the purposes of monitoring and/or enforcing the insurers compliance with regulatory rules/codes. Your information may also be used for offering renewal, research and statistical purposes and crime prevention. Information may also be shared with other insurers either directly or via those acting for the insurer, such as Investigators or Loss Adjusters.

How to find what information we hold about you
You have the right to request a copy of all the personal information we hold about you in a Subject access request. To do this simply write to us at the address above or contact us via email.
