Employee Review- Lindsay Lee

I left school after my A levels having no idea what sort of ‘career’ I wanted to pursue. I applied to MIS Claims with the intention of working for a few years while I figured out what type of job I wanted.

I began in the scanning & breakdown team where I was welcomed with open arms by Monica & Tracy, I moved on to processing claims and soon after began taking calls. Although the office was extremely busy, I was trained until I was eventually a delegated claims handler, handling every aspect of the claim from start to finish.

As MIS Claims is a company with many different departments, I, like a lot of others, was able to move around gaining more knowledge and expertise in various roles.

12 years later I am now the legal expenses manager and love everything about my job! It’s varied, challenging and rewarding.

MIS Claims invest heavily in their staff, funding exams and additional training. They care about the working environment and as well as social nights out, organise lunches and events throughout the year in the working day. This might be one of the reasons we work in an office full of friends, not just colleagues.

Working at MIS Claims has given me the career I never knew I wanted.

Employee Review- Christine McIlroy

I’m Christine and I joined MIS in January of this year. Coming into a new job after five years in my previous role was daunting but the MIS family has made me feel so welcome!

My role is in the first response team, taking notifications of new insurance claims for both home and motor policies. This involves taking lots of details from all sorts of different customers with different circumstances and different requirements. I’ve gained an abundance of experience here and thanks to the large variety of products and services we offer, every day is a school day.

The office here in Dundonald is more than a workplace, it’s a family space, and I have been supported better in my first few months here than any other job I’ve been in. With one on one training (thanks Alice!) I was able to see first-hand the job I had been hired to do and had the opportunity to ask any questions with no interruptions, meaning my learning was very efficient. When I was ready to take new claims calls on my own, I had the confidence to handle these knowing that everyone was there to support and help me. I’ve gained a wealth of knowledge about insurance and its processes that I didn’t have before and have even been able to use this outside of work to help others.

Although I am still very new compared to some of the staff here, I feel like a member of the family and get on brilliantly with everyone, especially my desk buddies Zoe and Adam who have infinite patience with me and my questions. All the staff and management are approachable and friendly and when I started, I immediately felt that everyone cares about the customers, the job and the company we work for. This means that everyone works well together and helps each other, we all have each other’s back and this mentality goes from myself and my colleagues all the way up to the Directors.

There is always something new happening at MIS which all the staff are encouraged to get involved in. Whether it’s providing ideas with content for our Facebook page, helping with our charity work or being put through insurance exams to further your career, I can see so many opportunities for personal and professional growth. I am thoroughly looking forward to my future here and can’t wait to build on the career foundations I already have.

Employee Review- Sara Graham

Sara Graham Review

My name is Sara Graham. I came to work at MIS Claims when I was 19 straight from school. I began my career as a First Response Motor Claims Handler. I have gained an enormous amount of experience from working in MIS Claims. I have gained universal experience that would apply to many careers such as working within a team, working independently, dealing with members of the public and the ability to do it all with confidence. I have also gained more specific experience; MIS has given me the opportunity to work within many departments and I can now process all aspects of a claim from the initial telephone call to valuing and settling personal injury claims etc.

MIS have awarded me with many opportunities to better my career. They have sponsored and supported me with gaining several qualifications including my CII Level 3 Certificate, NVQ in Contact Centre Support and I am currently studying to qualify as an Accredited Product Adviser.

Often, we refer to MIS as our MIS family. They provide a relaxed, supportive and friendly workplace where there is always someone on hand to help. MIS have also funded many opportunities to socialise outside the office from booking boxes at the SSE Arena for concerts to weekends away to Manchester.

I have now worked for MIS Claims for over 11 years and I am now a Delegated Claims Handler. The support that I have found with MIS Claims is immeasurable, professionally and personally.

The MIS Letter Project

Are you involved in a local project? Whether its with school, a club, or a charity… Then check out ‘The MIS Letter Project’.

We want to be more involved in our community, so we are offering a small donation of support! Read on to find out more!!

On 23rd of April, it was Shakespeare Day! We are celebrating by launching “The M.I.S. Letter Project”.

In June 2018, The Daily Express did a survey in the UK and found out that young people hardly ever pick up a pen, with 65% of 25-34-year olds using one fewer than five times a week!!

To celebrate Shakespeare Day, we would like to provide one local community project, school or club with a token of support up to the value of £500. This could be for a specific purchase of equipment / supplies; or meet a specific need perhaps for a repair or other service; or we could release some of our staff to carry out some work for which you require volunteers.
All we ask is that you go back in time and send us a handwritten letter, explaining how and why your project should be picked. Send it to,

Jasmine – The Easter Bunny of Belfast

9 Year old Jasmine is HOPPING into the Easter Bunny’s shoes this year and collecting Easter Eggs for children in hospitals across Northern Ireland.

We were delighted to be a drop off point at our MIS Claims office for anyone in the Dundonald & surrounding areas.

Jasmine popped in today to collect the Eggs that we managed to gather for her. The grand total for us was….40 eggs!!

Jasmine is still collecting Easter Eggs from all over Northern Ireland to donate to the Children on 17th April. There is still time to help her out if you can.

Well done Jasmine, we are all rooting for you!
